9-10 Scripture

The Scripture course in Bhaktivedanta Gurukula is a Board approved program based on the Bhagavad-Gita and other important Vaishnava texts).  Students in Year 9 and 10 are exposed to the ancient dialogue of Arjuna and Krishna, in the context appropriate to extracting the most applicable understanding of the text.  The back story of the Bhagavad-gita is also incorporated into the course, utilizing the Mahabharata and Bhagavat Purana to engage the students in a much richer experience.  Bhagavad-gita is an all inclusive text, delegating to humankind how to act within this world, so it is an imperative outcome of this course to ensure the student is able to apply the text into their daily life, impacting on their choices and general awareness.

As of 2016, we have approved a two year program, which is registered under the title of 'Bhakti Sastri', and although will not grant a Bhakti Sastri degree within ISKCON, is based on the same basis of literature: Bhagavad-gita, Nectar of Devotion, Nectar of Instruction, and Sri Isopanisad.  This exposes the students to both ancient and medieval Vaishnava texts.
